Marie Thorhauge is a Danish character designer and visual development artist freelancing from the windy north of Denmark. She graduated from The Animation Workshop in 2009. From here she took a longboat directly to Ireland, invading Oscar Nominated studio Cartoon Saloon, where she worked as head of design until 2012. Saloon credits include character design for Song of the Sea as well as concept and lead background artist on the preschool show Puffin Rock – both earning her an Annie Award nomination.

Thorhauge went fully freelance in 2015 and in 2018 Thorhauge won an Emmy Award for production design on the Fred Rogers Company series Through The Woods.

Clients also include Disney TV, Cartoon Network, Skybound, Hornet Inc, Chromosphere, Mattel, Wieden+Kennedy among others.
